Dear French Story Listeners,
I have a treat for you this week.
This Saturday’s story is called Le couple silencieux — the silent couple. And it is wonderfully, delightfully silly.
Our two characters are têtus comme des mules. Stubborn as mules.
So stubborn, in fact, that on their wedding night they would rather stay completely silent — for hours — than give in to each other.
It’s funny. It’s charming.
And it’s full of beautiful, everyday French that your brain will quietly absorb while you’re too busy smiling to notice.

Just sit back, let the French wash over you, and enjoy the story.
Your brain is doing far more than you realise.
A gentle invitation for this week
After you watch, try something called a narration — simply retelling the story in your own words.
In your mother tongue, in French, or a mix of both. Whatever feels right for where you are right now. There’s no wrong way.
Retelling a story in your own words is one of the most natural ways to make knowledge your own.
Fluency isn’t about being perfect.
In a real conversation, what matters is keeping the flow, not freezing, not stopping to mentally check your grammar.
The more you practise telling stories out loud, the more naturally French begins to move through you.
Just a few sentences. Just what you remember. That’s enough.
