Throughout December, I invite you to slow down and savor our Advent poem “Le Calendrier de l’Avent” in a special way:
by handwriting one verse each day, or recording yourself reading it aloud.

There’s wisdom in the saying that the best pace to absorb a poem is the pace at which you can copy it by hand.
When you write out each word, you’re forced to slow down, to notice each phrase, and to see how every word plays its part in creating the whole.
It’s a gentle, meditative practice that lets the French sink deeper into your mind and heart.
Each day, choose one verse, write it out by hand, and if you’d like, share a photo in our Telegram group.
