To our circle of French Story Listeners,
Something wonderful happened on Telegram this week, and I didn’t want you to miss it.
Francine, our dear member from the Netherlands, responded to the Teen Progress question:

“Est-ce que je suis plutôt salée ou sucrée?”
Her answer was simply great! Francine wrote about loving fish, vegetables, cheeses, and Italian pasta on the savoury side, and then, on the sweet side? The éclair au chocolat, crème brûlée, tarte Tatin, and mousse au chocolat.
She concluded with something that made me smile:
“Je pense que les Français sont de véritables maîtres des desserts” — “I think the French are true masters of desserts.” (Can we argue with that?)
Then Nadya, our beloved member from Lyon, shared something beautiful. She’s taking flute lessons and her teacher gave her a piece called Petites pièces montées pour le dessert — a collection of music where each piece is dedicated to a dessert.
And Nadya, being wonderfully herself, shared that to truly feel the musical emotion, she tastes each dessert in the collection. 🎵🍮

This is exactly how we acquire French
Not by drilling lists. Not by memorising rules.
But by making living connections.
Between a word and a flavour, a melody and a memory, a story and something that genuinely moves us.
These are “living ideas,” and that’s precisely what Francine and Nadya brought to our little community this week.
You don’t need to be in France to live en français.
You just need a flute, an éclair, or a good story!
Your gentle invitation this week
What are you working on right now?
Whether it’s a session from the Teen Progress, a story from the Infant Progress, or an audiobook like The Life of Louis Braille — I’d love to hear about it.
Come and share in our Telegram group.

Your words, however small, become part of someone else’s encouragement.
