Coucou les membres de la communauté,
This Monday’s Community Live Meeting was truly special!
Barry, one of our most committed members, invited a friend from Québec to join the meeting.
It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to hear and speak French with une québécoise.
Merci, Barry, for helping us bring a little bit of Québec into our circle!

French from France vs. Québécois: What’s Different? 🤔
You may have noticed some differences in the way people from Québec speak French compared to what you might be used to hearing from France.
Québécois French has its own unique accent, vocabulary, and expressions.
For example, you might hear “magasiner” instead of “faire du shopping” for “to go shopping,” or “char” instead of “voiture” for “car.”
The pronunciation can also be quite distinct, with some vowel sounds and rhythms that set it apart from European French.
Despite these differences, both varieties are equally rich and beautiful.
Understanding them opens up even more of the Francophone world for you!
