Coucou les French learners,
Bonne année et bonne santé 2023 ! I hope you’re ready for all the wonderful experiences this new year has in store for you!
I’m not a big resolutions person because I always fail. My brain gets overwhelmed by this new year’s “to-do list” and instead of feeling motivated, I end up being over stressed! So this year, I am going to try to set broader goals and work toward them all year.
For now, I’ll say this: the theme of 2023 for us, my Dear Man and I is GROWTH. In French, it is croissance, croître.
We want to reach more out to more human beings around the world because we believe acquiring a new language can make the world a better place. The benefits of having another language are countless and can change you as a person.
In this time of uncertainty, acquiring a new language will help you adapt, be opened, become antifragile (as Nassim Nicholas Taleb explained in his book).
Knowing another language is knowing another way of thinking. It helps you deal with the unknown. It sets you free!
It is time to reach you and help you on your journey to discovering another language that will serve your life.
Are you ready? Share the good news with your friends, family, colleagues or clients. Let’s grow together! #trusttheprocess #enjoytheride
Here are my 3 tips or 3 wishes to start the new year with a clean slate. My tips apply to your French journey as well as any other language journey.
Winter live classes
Boost your French and gain confidence.
Starting on January 9, choose from 4 weekly classes for 3 different levels!
Build a strong foundation. Acquire the most frequent French words and structures used in everyday conversations. Listen to compelling stories. Acquire a lot of vocabulary and structures effortlessly. Use complex structures to talk about a wide range of topics.
The goal is to develop fluency as well as the ability to process the language spontaneously.
I have I have enjoyed the Fall 2022 Advanced Beginner live lessons so much! For me, the live classes are the way to go. I’m motivated on Monday mornings to see the “community of French learners”, and over time, I have become more relaxed and ready to speak French. My progress has been continual and steady, and I appreciate all the tips for finding level-appropriate material to support “listening and learning” in-between classes. I find the live lessons compelling and best of all, fun. Thanks for all that you do, and I’ll see you in 2023!
All classes are recorded, so you can watch at your leisure if you need to miss a class.
Can’t make it LIVE? You can purchase the recordings and readings only and go through them at your own time.

Review of the week
I get to read the best comments on the Community Chat! Angus shared recently:
Generally I don’t stick at things before a new thing carries me away but French Acquisition with Alice Ayel seems to be the exception. I just could not think of a life without the magic and wonder of Alice Ayel opening the doors to French communication, French Culture and France through her acquisition method and content.
